Tuscha with Santa (December 2009)

Tuscha was brought to All Nations in September 2008, by Social Welfare. She had been found wandering around the streets in Maputo, the capital city. Immediately after arriving at the babyhouse, Tuscha was surprisingly smiley and confident with the other children and adults. It was suspected that Tuscha had been living on the street for some time, as she was covered in bites and irritations on her skin, which kept her awake crying on the first few nights of her stay. She also had a large lump on the back of her head, which was suspected to be a tumour or cyst.

Thankfully, a few days after arriving, Tuscha’s bump disappeared completely and her skin started to heal, meaning she was able to get a good night’s sleep alongside the other children.

Tuscha has continued as a confident and happy child, and is thriving in the All Nations setting amongst her friends, and the adults there that care for her. Possibly due to her lifestyle before arriving at the babyhouse, she is an adventurous and independent child, but loves cuddles and attention from the familiar adults around her.
