The Masana Project

Masana is a day centre for boys living on the streets of Maputo, Mozambique. They provide breakfast and lunch, a place to shower and clothes washing facilities, basic education and life lessons. Masana's vision is to see the boys off the streets and reunited with their families, and they work with the boys and their families to realise this whenever possible, continuing to work with the families after the reintegration.

In addition to this, they offer street kids a safe home to make the transition from the street life to their home communities. It provides short term accommodation where they are able to begin the adjustment from life on the street to life where boundaries and structure exist. The Masana Project also helps teach the boys the skills they need to start a new business or return to education when they go home.
