A social worker contacted Pieter about a little boy that appeared to have been separated from his family. The boy refused to talk to social welfare, so they knew very little about him, not even knowing his name. Pieter and Rika agreed to take the boy home with them and care for him until his family could be found. During the car journey back to the babyhouse, he kept trying to jump out of the car.
During the following week at All Nations, the little boy became more secure in the environment and started to talk to the staff. He told them his name is Agosto, and that he had been abducted and thrown into a car when he was in his home village, Macaneta. He managed to escape by jumping out of the car.
Pieter and Rika plan to drive out to Macaneta this week to look for Agosto’s family, and hope to be able to reunite them.
Hawa, one of our HIV positive children, has been struggling with her health for several months. She had been losing weight, refusing to eat, and frequently spending the day in bed due to exhaustion.
Despite fears that Hawa was losing her brave battle against AIDs, she is now showing signs of improvement: she is gaining weight, her smile is back and she once again has the energy to play with her friends.
Pieter and Rika would like to thank everyone for their support and prayers for Hawa, their “little miracle”.
