Helping to make a world of difference

Marcelino's mother left him and his father. His father didn't have the resources to take care for his son because he was unemployed and living in a small grass hut. When Marcelino came to the Babyhouse, he was malnourished.

Despite eating huge portions every meal time he has remained very small for his age. However what Marcelino lacks in stature he makes up for in character. He is one of the oldest children, and is best friends with Pieter and Rika’s youngest son, Philip.

He often behaves like the leader of the babies and many of the group riots can be tracked back to Marcelino as the ringleader! He can be particularly rebellious at bedtime, when he will encourage the boys to keep jumping out of bed once they have been tucked in for the night! His cheeky grin and incredible sense of humour makes him very popular with the visitors.
