Luis was born on the 09th June 2005. Two months later he came to the babyhouse, when both his parents died of AIDS. Luis was very poorly when he arrved at the babyhouse, and was suffering from malnourishment, malaria, an ear infection and a chest infection. Because he was so ill, he wasn’t able to eat or drink, and had to have a feeding tube put down his mouth.
Despite underlying health difficulties, Luis has proved to be one of the little miracles at the babyhouse, and is now one of the healthiest children there. The medicine he is on has played a part in making him much stronger and allowing him to gain weight. The difference between the photo of him when he arrived, and how he is now is incredible.
Together with the other boys, Luis is another little troublemaker. He likes digging around in the bin, and will try and pinch food from some of the younger girls. If he realises he is in trouble, he will hide and start crying crocodile tears to escape a telling off!
It is a real answer to prayer that this little boy is still here, and healthy, and we are confident that he has great things ahead of him.
