Gercio moving back home

Gercio- one of our little boys at the babyhouse- has gone back to live with his father after almost two years being cared for by Pieter and Rika. Gercio was left on his father’s doorstep by his mother (as they lived separately) when he was a baby. Gercio’s father had no job or means to provide for Gercio and brought him to the babyhouse, but has maintained contact with his son, paying frequent visits to him. Gercio’s father has now found a job and has married, and Gercio has therefore returned to live with him and his ‘new mum’. Pieter and Rika are maintaining contact and support with the family, and helping out with food parcels and clinic visits.

Tuscha is being adopted!

Another of the children, Tuscha, is in the process of being adopted by a Doctor from Central Hospital in Maputo. Tuscha has been at the babyhouse since September 2008 after being found wandering the streets at the age of three and without any apparent home or parents.

Pieter and Rika are obviously sad to see Tuscha leave but are excited about her starting her adventure with a new family.

Hawa

Hawa

Hawa has been struggling with her health for the past few months. She has now been placed on a new diet and there has been an improvement to her weight, with her gaining a kilogram.

Please continue to pray for Hawa as she faces her daily battle against AIDS.
